Wendy Scholz, Ph.D., President

Dr. Wendy Scholz has nearly three decades of experience designing, manufacturing, and using customized labware for a variety of bioscience applications, including cell biology, immunology, biochemistry, cell culture, molecular biology, high-throughput screening (HTS), and microarrays. During her academic career, she was sought after as an expert in neuronal cell culture, and developed extensive expertise with monoclonal antibodies, protein biochemistry, and molecular biology.

For 7 years, Wendy was first Scientist then Manager of Research and Development for Nalge Nunc International. During her tenure there, she designed, developed, and oversaw production of numerous products that are now taken for granted in the research laboratory, including plates with specialized surfaces for cell culture and immunology, specialized coverglass and optical bottom plates, custom-designed and OEM multi-well plates for high-throughput screening, patented chambered slides, multi-well plates with improved chemical resistance, and other related products. Wendy was also essential to the awarding of ISO 9001 certification to Nalge Nunc, and the continued compliance with ISO 9001 standards.

For the 7 years ending in 2009, Wendy was the Director of Research and Development, and the Director of Quality Control at Grace Bio-Labs. She continued designing, prototyping, and manufacturing unique and customized labware, including numerous products currently incorporated into kits or marketed by leading companies in the biotechnology industry. Wendy was responsible for designing and prototyping new products to comply with each customer’s needs and specifications, validating products and processes to meet FDA and GMP standards, and scaling up manufacturing processes for large-scale production. In addition, she established a quality system for medical device manufacturing and instituted an electronic operations program to streamline production and ensure adherence to specifications and quality.
